    Are computers the worst part of your job search?

    Come to our basic computer skills classes at the Job Lab on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am-noon.

    On Monday, a general workshop will include hands on assistance with any computer skills you are working on.

    On Wednesday, we will have three rotating classes available:

    Computer Basics

    • Mouse
    • Keyboard
    • Basic internet searches

    Microsoft Word Basics

    • Opening a document
    • Typing
    • Copying and Pasting
    • Changing the font and size of text
    • Saving and Save as

    Basic Email Course

    • Checking dierent folders
    • Opening emails
    • Sending emails
    • Replying, etc.
    • Attaching docs, etc.

    Living Well with Diabetes covers many topics including techniques to deal with symptoms of diabetes: fatigue, pain, hyper/hypoglycemia, stress, depression; healthy eating; exercise; medication usage; and working effectively with health care providers. Participants will set goals, share experiences, and help each other to solve problems they encounter. This class meets two hours a week for six weeks.

    Free Nursing Assistant+ Class!

    East Side Neighborhood Services is beginning our FREE Nursing Assistant+ Class in early July! Participants will complete courses at Minneapolis College and East Side Neighborhood Services over 11 weeks. Classes are Monday—Thursday from 9:30am—3:30pm.

    North Memorial has shown investment in their community by partnering with East Side Neighborhood Services for this program. By providing resources, interview coaching sessions, and offering a pathway to employment at North Memorial, future nursing assistant students have an extra advantage once they receive their nursing assistant certification. 

    If you are interested in applying you must attend an information session. Dates for the information sessions:

    • Tuesday, June 4th 1:00pm—3:00pm
    • Thursday, June 6th 9:30am—11:30am
    • Monday, June 10th 1:00pm—3:00pm
    • Wednesday, June 12th 9:30am—11:30am

    You will be asked to complete a TABE reading and math test at the information session, which usually takes about an hour to complete.

    • 8th Grade Reading and Math Level
    • Able to fully commit your time for 11 weeks
    • Ability to pass a background check
    • Able to work in the United States

    Looking for a safe, engaging and fun place for the person you're caring for so you can take a break and get some respite?

    At NE Day Spot, people with early to moderate memory loss and other health conditions make new friends, exercise their bodies and engage their minds!

    This group respite program starts on Friday, June 28th and will be occurring every Friday from 10AM-2PM at East Side. A pre-assessment is required to determine eligibility, and the program cost is on a sliding fee scale based on income (around $0-$45 per day).
