Feed The Need
The 2011 Holiday Train event will give local Minneapolis community members the opportunity to donate cash or food to support food shelves at East Side Neighborhood Services, benefiting residents of Northeast and Southeast Minneapolis and surrounding areas. This event brings the community together for a night of free live musical entertainment, kid’s activities, horse drawn carriage rides, refreshments and to support the local community with food shelf support.
The Canadian Pacific Railway Holiday Train is celebrating its 12th year of raising awareness of hunger relief by touring over 130 communities across the U.S. Canadian Pacific provides a brightly decorated train covered in lights, a box car converted into a stage, great musical talent and a contribution of food and funds that support community members during the holidays. Bringing holiday cheer and the important food shelf message on the U.S. Holiday Train will be veteran Milwaukee folk-rocker Willy Porter, who has a fan base that includes the U.S., Canada, the UK and Europe. Along with Willy on the Holiday Train stage will be Nashville country-music recording artist Sydney Grigg.
