The Senior Food Shelf

 

The Senior Food Shelf has been dedicated to providing nutritious food to seniors since 1984. It provides about 20-25 pounds of nutritious food items to low-income older adults once a month. Non-food hygienic products are also provided as they become available.

 

  • Provides 2-3 day supply of nutritious food monthly
  • Additional nutrition supplements periodically as the become available.
  • No cost to participants 

Interested in donating?

 

With financial gifts and collaboration with food banks, restaurants and stores, East Side Neighborhood Services is able to purchase food at a lower price. Here’s a brief list of items available to our food shelves for a single dollar:

  • 52.5 pounds of cereal - OR
  • 8.3 pounds of beef, pork or chicken - OR
  • 3 containers of oatmeal - OR
  • 2.5 jars of spaghetti sauce

Eligibility:
All low income seniors (age 55+) living in Hennepin County.

The Senior Food Shelf is located at 

1801 Central Avenue, NE – Minneapolis. 


It is open Monday through Friday, 

10:00a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
