Mulberry Junction is a community-based after school program located in the ESNS main building that provides programming for youth who live in the Bottineau, Holland, Sheridan, Beltrami and Marshall Terrace neighborhoods of NE Minneapolis.
From September to June, Mulberry Junction provides after-school enrichment Monday through Thursday including daily academic support, leadership development and activities that stir excitement for learning. Mulberry Junction also offers school release day programs.
Monday- Wednesday, our day includes a healthy snack, unstructured play time, focused enrichment activities: cooking, sports/games, art, music, outdoor education, etc., as well as, focused 1:1 and group literacy, math, and homework support. On Thursdays, we will venture into the community to explore local libraries, parks, museums, etc.
Our team includes a program manager, youth worker, licensed teacher, literacy specialist, an intern from St. Catherine and America Reads tutors from the University of Minnesota.
With a group of 25-30 youth we have many chances to share and create new program ideas together. At the heart of Mulberry Junction, we are constantly striving to cultivate a spirit of freedom, curiosity and growth.
