High Rise Mobile Food Shelf

The High-Rise Mobile Food Shelf is a unique program that brings a food shelf directly to 39 low-income apartment buildings in Hennepin County, serving over 2,000 people each month. For most of our clients, who are senior citizens and/or have disabilities, getting to traditional food shelves or grocery stores can be difficult. The Mobile Food Shelf ensures that these residents still have fresh, nutritious food to eat.

Click here to see a list of our current Mobile Food Shelf sites. Anyone who lives in one of these buildings may participate. Most sites receive a delivery every two weeks. Resident volunteers at each site help sort the food and distribute it to their neighbors.

For more information contact (612) 340-9694. If you live in one of the buildings we service, we can tell you when our next delivery will be and how to sign up. Clients must complete a brief enrollment form once each year but are not required to present an ID or proof of income.

For information about other food shelves, food resources, and SNAP (food support), please contact the Minnesota Food Helpline at 1-888-711-1151.
