Metro Food Programs

East Side Neighborhood Services has a long history of providing for our diverse community members in need of food assistance and nutritional support. Our food shelves serve over 3,000 Hennepin County households, providing nutritious fresh food as well as assistance with accessing SNAP (food support) and other resources. We specialize in services tailored to those who may have a difficult time accessing other food shelves, including seniors and people with disabilities.

Our Metro Food Programs include the following:

  • Senior Food Shelf (for Hennepin County residents age 55+)
  • Glendale Food Shelf (for Glendale Townhomes residents)
  • High-rise Mobile Food Shelf (for residents of 39 low-income apartment buildings)

Monetary donations are the most effective way to support our food shelves. By collaborating with food banks, restaurants, and stores, East Side Neighborhood Services is able to purchase food at a much lower price than what grocery stores charge.

For information about other food shelves, food resources, and SNAP (food support), please contact the Minnesota Food Helpline at 1-888-711-1151.
